Shyer heals the soul with new single | ‘The Only Cure’

Shyer is a quartet from Cambridge and this is their new single ‘The Only Cure’. This punchy, female-fronted band have released a smattering of singles over the last year, and one of them (‘Compliments’) even got featured on 6Music as part of Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape. That’s awesome, and you know what? This new single is too.

Kicking off with an intro that immediately throws you back into a 90’s high school rom-com, ‘The Only Cure’ is a track that certainly lives up to Shyer’s punchy sensibilities. Thick walls of distorted guitars tear through the airwaves, but do make way for the occasional melody to add a touch of emotion to the mix. It helps add some needed variety to the track, and adds a kind of texture that matches up with the vocals reallllll nicely. ‘The Only Cure’ is a great song and you don’t want to Shyer-way from this.
