Good Sounds Playlist – ‘Sharp Tongues’ / Roundup

Good morning everybody! Welcome to the latest roundup of the Good Sounds Playlist. The playlist that adds twelve new singles from twelve new artists every single week. I hope you’re well and keeping safe. Can you BELIEVE it is August? I can’t. Usually I’d be gearing up for Reading Festival, and would go through a ritual of not showering for a couple weeks to get used to being dirty.

This week’s roundup is named ‘Sharp Tongues’ after the new single from Dead Pony. The duo actually featured on the Good Sounds Playlist with their previous song ‘Everything is Easy’, so I think they’re slowly creeping into my mind as a new favourite. ‘Sharp Tongues’ is a heavy dose of distortion that knocks you out and riffs over your body. It’s powerful, catchy and an outright BEAST of a listen.

I really like this set of songs. Las Mar’s ‘Weekend Repair’ is a real percussive groove, BLOXX’s ‘Off My Mind’ is a new addition to my running playlist and I really appreciate the smooth pace of Electric Sol’s ‘Accept Me’. Also, shoutout to Emzae for her new single ‘THRIVE’ which will be featured fully on Sounds Good, as well as Youth Sector and Josie Proto for their excellent new EPs.
